Bridgeport Mountain Warfare Training Center is located in Northern California, just south of Lake Tahoe.

If you love being outdoors, you will love being stationed at Bridgeport. Year round recreational activities await you that include downhill and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, camping, and hiking.

Weather

You will experience all four seasons here. The summers average in the 70s-80s and the winters average 20s-40s with an average snowfall of several feet a year.

Area Activities

Walker: 5 minutes from housing. Offers lodging for guests or those not yet stationed at Bridgeport, dining and recreational activities.

Topaz Lake: 5 minutes from housing and offers a casino, lodging and food. Many spouses like to go and play the weekly Bingo game.

Gardnerville: Approximately 30 minutes from housing.

Carson City: Approximately 1 hour from housing. This is your closest major shopping, movies, etc.

Lake Tahoe: Approximately 1 hour from housing. Tahoe is split across Nevada and California. There are several large casinos on the Nevada side for gambling as well as 12 different ski areas, and of course the lake for water skiing and fishing. Check out the North Lake Tahoe event guide.
