Commissary: A brand new commissary has been built for Bridgeport residents. The closest ‘other’ grocery stores are offered in Gardnerville, which is about 45 minutes north of housing. There’s a super Walmart, Target and Trader Joe’s.
Exchange: There is an exchange at the actual base of Bridgeport and a smaller mini exchange at the Coleville housing complex. Each store carries the basic supplies of military gear, bath and laundry necessities and some food staples.
Clubs: Join one and have some fun! Officer Wives Club and the Enlisted

Pools: There is a large heated pool on the base housing at Coleville.
Fitness Centers: There is a small gym at the Coleville housing complex. On base, there’s a fitness center offering free weights, weight lifting machines, volleyball, wallyball, indoor soccer/hockey, and aerobic equipment. There’s a rock climbing wall and water aerobics program.
Pickel Chalet Base Club: Open to all hands and offers lunch Monday thru Friday from 11:00am-1:00pm. In the evening, it’s open for dinner daily 5:00pm-9:00pm. There’s darts, music and big screen TVs. The Chalet can be rented for private events.
Trapper Ted’s Full Moon Saloon: Open only for private events with a 72 hour notice.
Medical Facilities:
Bridgeport offers a weekly doctor visit from 9:00am-3:00pm every Wednesday at the Coleville Housing clinic for walk-ins only. Or you can make appointments at the Bridgeport Clinic Hospital Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays by calling 760-931-1616.
You will automatically fall under Tricare Remote because there is no large Naval Hospital within close proximity. For more than basic care, you will have to go into Gardnerville. Carson Valley Medical Center in Gardnerville is the closest ER and is approximately 45 minutes away.
