Child Care Programs at Quantico Marine Corps Base

Children, Youth and Teen Programs: Offers family care referrals (on base home daycares), School Age Care for after school programs, and CDC (Child Development Center) which takes children six weeks thru six years.

Child Development Center: Offers hourly, part time or full time child care for children 6 weeks thru 5 years.  6:00am-6:00pm. Family Childcare: Family childcare is available for children in certified caregiver homes. A new CDC is opening soon across from the commissary.

School Age Care Program: Available for children 5-12 years of age. Children must be enrolled in Kindergarten and attending Kindergarten. Monday thru Friday 6:00am-8:30am, and after school Monday-Friday 2:30-6:00pm.

Quantico Youth Center (Base Boys and Girls Club): Available for children 6-18 years of age. Offers a variety of activities for school age children including lessons, arts and crafts, sports, summer camps and other special events.  Check out the calendar of events.

Exceptional Family Member Program: The Respite Care program allowing up to 40 hours a month for children with special needs.

Youth Sports

On Base Youth Sports: The base offers a youth sports program with the following cut-off dates. That means if your child isn’t the age by the date, they cannot play.

Basketball January 1st, Baseball April 1st, and Soccer September 1st. Anything with an asterisk * means that the age groups may be combined.

PARENT involved clinics (Start Smart): Baseball

INSTRUCTIONAL: Divided into teams by your child’s birth dates and cut-offs.

Soccer: Freshman (5-6 year olds), Juniors (7-8 year olds), Intermediate (9-10*), Majors (11-12*).  Season plays: September-October.

Basketball: Peewees (5-6 year olds), Bantam (7-9 year olds), Juniors (10-12). Season plays: January-March.

Baseball: T-Ball (5-6 year olds), Coach Pitch (7-8 year olds), Minors (9-10*), Majors (11-12*). Season April-May

Gymnastics: Variety of ages and programs. Adaptive Gymnastics is geared towards those with special needs.

Martial Arts:  Isshinryu Karate: Ages 7+, Aikido: Ages 13+, Basic Japanese Karate: Ages 7+, Self Defense and Martial Arts Weapons: Ages 7+, Real World Self Defense: Ages 18+

Dance/Music Classes: Kinderdance: Ages 3-5, Music Together Vivo: Babies through age 5, Piano, guitar and more: Ages 7+, Dynamic All Stars: Ages 3+, Stafford Performing Stars: Ages 4-14, Adult Classes in Ballroom, Latin and more. Ages 15+

Cheer/Tumble: Pre Cheer and Tumble: Ages 5 and under

Cheer and Tumble 1: Ages 6-14

Sports: Tennis:  Ages 7+, Youth Football: 8-13 years, Softball, Volleyball, Swim Lessons and more.

Family: Playgroups: Ages 5 and under, Drama Kinderkids: Ages 3-5, Sign Say and Play: Ages 7-24 months, Cooking: Jr Chefs: Ages 7-14, Surf and Sand: Ages 3-6, Hurray for the USA: Ages 3-6

Classes: Basket weaving, CPR, First Aid.  So much more to see, you need to download the activities kit.

Off Base Programs for Sports / Youth Activities

Traffic is bad around here.  Bad enough that you may want to drive your kids to youth activities outside of Stafford unless you live in those areas.  If you’re trying to drive your kids after school, chances are cars are inching along the freeway going north and south.  It’s even like that during the day at times.
