Need more information on Barstow Marine Corps Base?
Commissary: Closed Sundays and Mondays. Commissary is quite small, but it works well enough so you don’t have to go off base for most of your grocery needs. You can also utilize the Army base next door (Ft Irwin) as they have a bigger commissary.
Bowling Alley: This is a very small bowling alley offering six lanes that has recently been remodeled. It’s open Wednesday thru Sunday. Other specials are available, check the website for details.
Base Events: There’s not a whole lot going on at this base, but the good news is that it is close to the Army base next door. Check out Fort Irwin because the Army is allocated more funds yearly to providing welfare opportunities than the Marine Corps receives. We can utilize all of their classes and equipment as military spouses.
Exchange: There is a very small exchange located on the base with the necessities. The exchange has a small military section with a small assortment of goods; it is approximately the size of a gymnasium. The gas station is attached on the front of the exchange.
ITT (Information Tickets and Tours): Open Monday thru Friday. Tickets can also be purchased at the Bowling Alley. Get discounted tickets to Disneyland, Sea World, Lake Havasu Rentals, Big Bear Rentals and more.
Base Stables: There is a small stable at the Yermo annex. Contact them at 760-577-7302 for more information.
Golf Course: There is a golf course located on the main base.
Oasis Club: Connected to the Oasis pool and offers a bar and conference center.
The Oasis pool is the only family pool on base. It is quite large with lounging chairs and tables. Parking is quite odd so if you have kids and lots of things, plan on dropping everyone off and walking in.
Family Restaurant: Open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week (including a brunch on Sunday). There is a weekly dinner available on Thursday evening. Check the link for menus.
