Children’s Programs

Children, Teen and Youth Programs: Offers family care referrals (on base home daycares), School Age Care for after school programs, and CDC (Child Development Center) which takes children six weeks thru six years.

Child Development Center (CDC): CDC 928-269-2350

Hourly Care: Available by reservation Mon-Fri for children 6 weeks+. Walk-ins are accepted on a space available basis. Everyone must be preregistered for information and reservations.

Full Time and Part Time Care: for children 6 weeks-5 years. A part time PreK program is available for potty trained children 4-5 years of age on Mon-Wed-Fri from 8:30am-11:30am. Breakfast is served the first 30 minutes of class. This program breaks when the school district breaks.

Family Childcare: 928-269-3233. Available in certified homes on base.

Enhanced Extended Child Care (EECC): The Marine Corps sponsors this program to offer child care to eligible USMC sponsors when they cannot use their regularly scheduled child care program. Reasons included unexpected duty assignments, extended duty hours, family illness, and family emergencies. Eligible sponsors include military families with employed spouses, single parents, and dual military families. Children must be 14 years of age or under to use the EECC program. Although the USMC pays for the EECC program services, the parents must continue paying their regular child care fees.

Youth Programs: There are several after school programs offered on base divided into age groups. Youth Center 928-269-3659 and 928-269-5390.

School Age Childcare: Fees apply. Open when school is in session for children before school 6:00am-8:00am and after school 2:00-6:00pm Mon-Fri. Wednesdays early release from12:00pm-6:00pm. These services come with activities, an opportunity to do homework, as well as meals and snacks.

Open Recreation: Free for children 10 years and older. Open from 2:00pm-6:00pm Mon-Fri and Saturday from 12:00pm-4:00pm. Kids over 10 may sign themselves in and out of the center. Children under the age of 10 are open to using the center, but must be signed in and out by a parent. Please note this is not a childcare setting, and does not have the supervision like a school-age care setting. The following clubs are offered in open recreation through the Boys and Girls club: Free Choice Art, Smart Girls, and Culinary Club.

Boys & Girls Club: Available for children participating in the Youth program. Offers Power Hour during the school year to help children with their homework.

Torch Club for children wanting to volunteer in the community. Project Learned incorporates development through hands-on activities. Cavity Free Zone, Triple Play offers healthy lifestyle development. Preteen and Teens:  Events every Friday night from 7:00pm-10:00pm. Kids have a hand in planning events on a monthly basis. Some activities include talent shows, scavenger hunts, water wars, dodge ball, tournaments, ice cream socials and more. They also have “lock-in” events such as overnight slumber parties, bingo casino night, Mardi Gras, and more.

Summer, Winter and Spring Breaks: Registration is required. For parents that use the camps throughout the year, the cost is $17.50. Those who do not stay current pay $35.00

Base Community Center Sports Programs: Intramural Sports are seasonal. There are 5K runs scheduled often. There are several baseball fields, two football fields, a track, a walking path, pool, racquetball courts, basketball courts, weight room and cardio room in the gym.

Exceptional Family Member Program: Find information and referrals. The Respite Care program offers 40 free hours of assistance.

Marine Corps Family Team Building: Great resources for families such as LINKS, CREDO,Readiness and Deployment Support, PREP, family readiness, life skills, and more.

Youth Sports

On Base Youth Sports: Several sports are offered: Flag football, soccer, basketball, and t-ball/coach pitch.
